About SciFi2Go

A discovery magazine for science fiction, built by one person who reads the books and watches the films before recommending them.

SciFi2Go first ran in 2023 and went quiet in 2024. It is back, and it is back with a narrower idea than before.

Most science fiction coverage is either a news feed or a review mill. Neither helps much when you are standing in a shop, or scrolling a streaming catalogue, trying to decide what to spend the next twenty hours on. This site exists to answer that one question well.

Who writes it

SciFi2Go is written and run by Rashid Ahmed. One person reads, watches and writes everything here. No content agency, no freelance pool, no sponsored placements.

How the guides get made

Every guide follows the same shape.

  1. Pick the title on merit, not on what is trending or what a publisher is pushing.
  2. Research it properly. Publication history, where it sits in the genre, what it is actually about, what it influenced and what influenced it.
  3. Draft the guide, then edit it hard. Drafts are prepared with software assistance, and every one of them is reviewed, corrected and approved by a human before it goes anywhere near the site.
  4. Make the artwork. Original art per guide, because a studio still or a poster is not ours to use and looks like everyone else’s site anyway.
  5. Publish only when it is true. No invented facts, no invented scores, no invented quotes.

What we will never do

  • No sponsored verdicts. If a recommendation is ever paid for it will be labelled as such. So far, none has been.
  • No fabricated scoring. A verdict here is a sentence explaining who a title is for, not a number pretending to be objective.
  • No prices. They change, and a stale price is worse than no price. Check the retailer.
  • No film stills or poster art presented as our own.
  • No pretending this is bigger than it is. The audience starts at zero, and that is stated on the homepage too.

Getting in touch

Corrections are genuinely welcome. If a fact on this site is wrong, say so and it gets fixed.

Use the contact page, or join the newsletter and reply to any issue. A person reads both.
