SciFi2Go is written and run by Rashid Ahmed. One person reads, watches and writes everything here. There is no content agency, no freelance pool and no sponsored placement.
How a guide gets made
- Choose on merit. Not on what is trending, and not on what a publisher is promoting.
- Research it properly. Publication history, where it sits in the genre, what it is actually about, what it influenced and what influenced it.
- Draft, then edit hard. Drafts are prepared with software assistance. Every one is reviewed, corrected and approved by a human before it goes anywhere near the site.
- Make the artwork. Original art per guide. We do not use studio stills or poster art and present it as our own.
- Publish only when it is true. No invented facts, no invented scores, no invented quotes.
How we state a verdict
- The conclusion comes first, so you can decide in ten seconds whether the rest is worth your evening.
- Spoiler light by default. We tell you what you need in order to decide, not what happens in act three.
- We say who a title is for, and who it is not for. A guide that recommends everything recommends nothing.
- No numerical scores. A number out of five pretends to be objective. A sentence explaining who should read something is more useful and more honest.
Artificial intelligence
Drafts are prepared with software assistance, and every one is reviewed and approved by a human before publication. If you are ever unsure whether a claim on this site is right, the correct response is to ask, and the answer will be a person.
Corrections
Mistakes are corrected promptly and without argument. Corrections take priority over everything else, because a wrong fact on a live page is the only thing here that is genuinely urgent. Tell us.
Review copies and gifts
Review copies, advance copies and press access may be accepted. They do not buy coverage, do not guarantee a positive verdict, and do not guarantee coverage at all.
Advertising and sponsorship
There is none. Should that ever change, paid content will be labelled as paid, visibly, at the top of the page, and it will not be mixed in with editorial.
Independence
No advertiser, publisher, studio or affiliate partner has any say in what is covered or how it is judged. If commercial pressure ever comes into conflict with that, the commercial arrangement loses.
